Steps to Peace With God

For more than 50 years, God has been using a simple tract to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. In four brief steps, people come to an understanding of how to find eternal life.

During Billy Graham’s landmark 1954 London Crusade, the Billy Graham team developed four remarkable steps and titled them “Steps to Peace With God.” Since that time, and in various printed and electronic forms, this succinct and clear presentation of how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and experience peace with God has been translated into dozens of languages and shared with millions of people.

The message that many people heard from the church in the 1950s was filled with images of hell, fire, and damnation. While those are realities for someone not rescued by trusting in Jesus and should not be minimized, “Steps to Peace With God” carries a different emphasis. A natural overflow from the Gospel message Billy Graham has given around the world, “Steps to Peace With God” clearly conveys God’s love, forgiveness, and plan for each person’s life.

A Groundbreaking Endeavor

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Billy Graham Library, August 26, 2005, near the organization’s new headquarters on the Billy Graham Parkway in Charlotte, N.C.

Billy Graham addressed the crowd, mentioning his ministry with long-time associates Cliff Barrows and George Beverly Shea and briefly reminiscing about his years growing up on a dairy farm just four miles away from the current Library building. “Please pray for this project,” he said. “That’s the greatest need we have.”
